DEFENSIVE USE OF FORCE

You've obtained your CCW permit. You’ve taken shooting classes and you understand basic firearms knowledge and safety, and you’re familiar with self-defense laws; but you haven’t tested yourself. You haven’t tested your muscle memory, your awareness, or how quick you can think and move on your feet while under stress. Take your training to the next level with this class. Defensive Use of Force allows a student to go through live-action reality based scenarios. We use airsoft guns that are modeled after modern firearms. Why do we use airsoft?

  • Training with airsoft is MUCH cheaper than paintball or simunitions. You’re average person can’t afford to spend hundreds of dollars on conversion kits and simunitions ammo
  • Airsoft can be done anywhere; indoors or outdoors (airsoft BBs also come biodegradable)
  • Airsoft can be fired safely at close range and far distances but still punch holes in paper/cardboard  targets
  • There is no mess with paint markers/ammo
  • You can never chamber a live round by accident
  • Less chance of harm to a student
  • Airsoft guns, ammo, and equipment can be purchased and are readily available at local stores like Wal-Mart, Gander Mountain, and other sporting good stores and online
  • Quality gas blow-back airsoft pistols are very realistic and imitate your carry gun almost 100%. (even with slide movement and pistol recoil) They can also fit into your current carry holster; so there’s no need to purchase extra gear

DFT recommends airsoft guns that shoot about 300 fps and be gas blow-back operated (green gas or CO2). For recommendations on which airsoft pistols to buy please contact DFT. Approx. 4 hrs. $150

Gear List:

  • Paintball style mask or helmet (full-head recommended to protect eyes and head)
  • Two layers of clothing (full-length pants and long sleeves are mandatory)
  • Gloves recommended
  • Quality concealed carry holster or training holster (IWB or OWB)
  • Body armor (optional)
  • Magazine pouch
  • Bag of biodegradable plastic BBs
